Manage Childhood Convulsion/Fits

Seizure (convulsion/ Fits) disorders are among the most common neurological conditions in childhood, contributing to nearly 85% of the global burden in developing countries. The predominant etiologies include metabolic disturbances (e.g., hypoglycemia), febrile seizures (convulsions associated with fever), and neurodevelopmental abnormalities.

Approximately 20% of these cases evolve into intractable or refractory  seizure characterised by poor response to conventional anti-epileptic drug (AED) therapy.

In this study, a 5-year-old child has successfully mitigated her symptoms with an Ayurvedic hero-mineral combination. She had a case of intractable/Refractory seizure secondary due to delayed myelination involving multiple brain regions, associated with delayed motor and speech milestones. The patient had been on AEDs since the age of 2 years, with partial reduction in seizure frequency from 2–3 episodes per day to approximately one episode per day. However, complete remission was not achieved. The patient subsequently discontinued allopathic treatment abruptly. After that on homeopathic medication for few months then came to ayurveda. The child was initiated on our ayurveda treatment protocol with oral and Nasya (a panchkarma procedure) and continued for a duration of 1 year with minimum herbs, patients is seizure free now with no medicine support.
